Attached is a photo of my lowered 82 spider with 7 x 15 1986 Mustang GT
wheels. The photo will not come across on Alfa digest, but it is attached
anyway.
These are the Turbina style from the mid 1980's Mustang GT. The Mustang LX
had the same size wheel, but with hearts in a phone dial arrangement.
All Ford four bolt wheels are 4 x 4 1/4. 4.25 times 25.4 equals 107.95
mm or darned close to the Alfa 4 x 108 bolt pattern.
The Mustang 7 X 15 wheels fit on the front of the 105 / 115 Alfas just
fine. The offset is very nice. The only problem is that they will not clear
the stub of the axle on the rear. A bit of trimming on the inside center with
a Dremel tool or a router with a metal cutting blade will relieve them enough
to clear.
My 82 spider had yellow Centerline springs with no rubber, so it was
quite low. I was running 225 50 15 tires for the steam roller look. I had to
roll both front and rear wheel wells. In front I gained clearance by running
1/2 degree of negative camber. At the rear, I used a BFH on all rub spots on
the inner fender until they quit rubbing. Do not force the metal, get a
bigger hammer... <grin>
The only real problem with the mid 1980's Mustang wheels is that they are
quite heavy.

All,
Several years ago I grabbed a set of wheels off of an '80s Mustang II that
bolted right up without modifications. They were wider than stock, and were
the multi-spoke Turbine design, which (IMO) were much cleaner looking than
the
Alfa Turbina design.

Doug and all,
I put a set of Ford Focus wheels on my Duetto a while back. The bolt
patterns are the same. Alfa is 4 X 108mm and the Fords are 4 X 4 1/4" which
comes out just a couple of thousands difference. Not enough to make any
difference.
But, the Ford wheels won't fit down over the front spindles or the
protrusion on the rear axles. You either need to have them machined or
install a 1/4" spacer. I did both and don't see any difference.

In the past, I've read on the AD that Ford Mustang wheels will fit our
Spiders. I have a 1977 Spider, currently with Turbinas.
I have a chance to buy four Mustang SVT rims, with nearly-new Riken tires.
The rims are 17x9.0, 26 mm offset, with bolt pattern 5-114, backspacing
6.12".
Does anyone know whether this would be a copacetic acquisition (for around
1K), or know where I might research the issue?
TIA
