As Russ said, automatics have their own sets of issues, but I don't think your
Gold is an automatic, is it?

If you recently replaced the shocks, your springs are still 20 years old. They
do sag over time, I'd be looking at them if I were you.

Does the car wallow or bounce around at all? Or is it nice and tight, but just
sitting low? If it's bouncing around and bottoming as a result, then the
shocks may be bad, or loose on one end. If it's nice and tight and still
bottoming out, then I'd think about getting new springs.

HTH,

bs

Subject: [alfa] Milano - soft rear end

Couldn't think of non-suggestive title ;-).

Anyway my '89 Gold readily 'bottoms' if I go over any sort of speed bump or
curb [even at slow speed] - put someone in the back seat & its much worse.
I replaced the shocks 2 or 3 years ago with Alfa stock. Any suggestion to
solve?

thanks & happy holidays
