Periodically I drive my 73' Alfa Spider into a swimming pool filled with diatomaceous earth (the powdered remains of diatoms: skeletal algae). This is an organic, environmentally friendly insecticide and doesn't leave the annoying smell like when I used to drive into a swimming pool filled with "DEET".
