The guy who rebuilt my motor suggested that he change the ring gear to 131 
so I could use the small starter later. He swapped me my original starter 
for an "earlier" one that would work with the 131 ring gear. He did NOT 
install the necesary brace kit, so the bell housing did indeed break. When he 
put 
in my rebuilt/lightened gear trans, he turned the lip seal, soaking my 
clutch with Redline MTL on my way home. Needless to say, the clutch slipped. He 
did not stand behind his work and I ended up taking him to the BAR. I've 
never done that before and it was an ordeal. He's now retired and out of 
business.

I'm going down now to check the chassis ground, it's been a rainin' and a 
blowin'. I'm glad I'm in a carport!
