been driving my 75 1.8 now for about two years with a throwout bearing which
upsets my hearing every time i apply the clutch.just sort of got used to
it.perhaps when i install my ts i'll go over the clutch also.

George, does the bearing squeal with the pedal depressed?  If not, then the
bearing is probably still functional but the clutch diaphragm springs are
noisy against the bearing.  I would just keep driving it to see if the noise
goes away.  You I can't remember if the bearing is accessible without major
surgery, but you could try a small accurate squirt of WD40 on the
bearing/spring interface to see if that quietens things.
