Will, I've attached copies of the towbar data from the Supplement for an Australian market 1992 75TS (Digesters won't see them) and some old photos from my car circa 2000. This may assist in designing a bar to fit a LHD Milano. The bar uses a curved plate attached to the the side of the spare wheel tub for some additional support.
Nor sure on legalities of building your own bar Stateside though. Biggest PITA will be ensuring exhaust pipe clearance. Note that my LH Watts link is bent in the photos. I can't recall if that was ex-factory or not, but I'm sure I do recall an impact mark on the rod that looked to be from contact with the towbar at some time previously Good luck.
