In the Alfa Spider's case, that can be easily fixed. International Auto Parts sells a subframe for the 70-93 spider that stiffens the chassis substantially.

that's a mis-attribution. Enzo Ferrqri didn't say that, Ettore Bugatti said that in the 1920's when a customer complained that his Bugatti's brakes required too much pedal pressure to stop effectively.
