oh i missunderstood the problem.yes a larger bearing in the housing wouldnt be a great upgrade.the bearing which is going south is no doubt the original from 76 which gives it thirty four years of service.better then enough for goverment work.there will be no problem to aquire a new bearing as these things are standard according to the number stamped on the old one.you don't need an alfa original.these bearings are made in usa or japan or germany or uk or china ect,and they are interchangable and standard although diffrent co. may have diffrent number schemes. --- On Thu, 5/27/10, jeff clark <[email protected]> wrote:
