Gentle Alfisti, Decided not to drive the GTV to Maryland last week. Major disappointment. Some have suggested a connection between the intermittent high-speed miss of the newly refurbished 2 liter and the bits of the no. 2 intake stem seal found during the last-ditch valve adjustment. Bent valve? And accordingly, to other suggestions, checked the compression. The results were satisfactory: 163, 173, 171, 170, 171. There does not seem to be a compression issue. Now will endeavor to inspect the other intake stem seals and replace the no. 2. The stem seals I have are white and unlike the helical spring found with the broken seal, these have a wire wrap at the sealing end. I believe neither of these are stock seals.
