I knew Russ only from his posts on the Digest and it was clear he was one the
most experienced on Alfa's. His technical answers's were spot on and he was
always there to help. Similiar to the late Fred DiMatteo he was a selfless
resource. To all his family and friends, we offer our sincerest condolences.

Please pass our condolences to his family.

I was an Alfa owner from 1993 to 2006, and lurking since then. Though I never
met him, it was clear to me that he was a selfless resource to everyone.

I just ordered Compumotive 15" wheels for my Spider. I was wondering what
the general consensus is for tires these days. I would love to have another
set of unsaved A008r's but I don't suppose there are any dot race tires
that get 5-6K miles these days. Any preferences? 205/50/15

Try Toyo's Proxes R888s!. They are the best handling, grippiest DOT
approved tire on the market these days and they are available in 15"
size (so many of the very best tires start at 16" of higher).

You should strongly consider the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires. I
purchased the RE-11 in the same 205 50-15 size, and I am most pleased with
these tires. My RE-11 purchase was specifically for a track day.

This is really sad, I knew Russ and helped him when he and Peg came to
Memphis
to race, and visited them on a trip to Oklahoma, one of the greatest guy's I
knew. I will miss him dearly.

May he rest in peace.
