I have stated value coverage on a '75 Spider with Hagerty. No proof of value needed, other than a few pictures of the car. I insured on the low end of the NADA Guides suggested pricing, though this car is actually nearer the top of their scale. I've not actually seen a mid-seventies Spider sell for as much as I have valued the car. I'm not quite sure what all of this means. . .

I've wanted to put one on my GTV6 for some time now. But one curious caveat is that she says I have to prove the car is worth the stated value. She said that I will have to take it to someone of due stature, like a dealer, bodyshop or noted collector, and have them write a statement saying they think the car is worth X dollars. I know some of you have stated value policies on your vehicles. Have you needed to do this with your cars and insurance companies?
