If the problem is corrosion or oxidation of the contacts, the best fix I
know of is Caig de-oxit.

Spray or liquid works great. Apply it to the bad contact and re connect.
Also apply to intermittent switches.
If the problem does not resolve in a few minutes wait a few hours, up to
a full day.
It will provide protection for a long time as well.
I have applied this stuff to a switch, switched the device on and walked
away returning hours later to find the device working.
