Hi Bruce,
As far as I know all 105 and 115 handbrakes are the same. I just reworked
one in a '94 Spider and it was identical to my '67 Duetto.
Two things usually go wrong with them. The grease used for lubrication
gets hard and packed in the mechanism restricting travel. The teeth on the
pawl and its adjoining rack become rounded and therefore slip. I used a
little cut off grinder to smooth the edges and make them match once more. I
guess a file would also work but would take longer ;-)

Hope this helps,

Subject: [alfa] GTV hand brake

The e-hand brake on my '73 GTV no longer holds its position when it is
pulled up; not much in the way of clicking from the pawls. I've got a late
model (Jetronic FI) Spider IAP repair manual. Are the two e-hand brake
assemblies similar enough that I can use the manual's section on the e-hand
brake to repair the GTV ?

Thanks,
           Bruce
