Thanks to everyone who responded. The miss is caused by a badly fouled
plug (passenger side nearest the firewall). This is the second time
that this particular plug has fouled (although the symptoms were
slightly different last time, with the Lodge plugs, that it was
happening again was my first thought and the first thing I looked at).
The missing occurs when the fouling gets real hot. It's a funny ash
color, there is no sign of oil on the plug and it doesn't seem to
running too rich. But since these plugs are only a few months old, I
can't imagine what's causing the fouling????!!!!!

Hi George,
I suggest that you connect a pressure gauge into the hose to the
cold start
injector with a T coupling. Then rev the engine hard and see if you
start to
lose pressure at higher rpm. Suspect the filter or pump if you lose
pressure.
Suspect the coil, plug wires or distributor cap/rotor if the
pressure is
steady and to spec. Quite a few folks report poor performance from
Bosch
platinum plugs. NGK copper core plugs are cheap and they work well.
