Folks,

I was changing the light bulb on the parking light/turn signal holder on my
'73 GTV last night and noticed that the inside of the holder was quite dull
instead of a shiny reflecting surface. I'd like it to be more reflective so
that the car is more visible. The holder seems to be made of pot metal and
the interior surface has patches of grayish corrosion.

I've got a rattle-can of Eastwood's reflector paint but I'm unsure how to
prep the surface of the reflector's interior. I presume that I can remove
the corrosion with steel wool/wet-dry sandpaper but do I need a primer
before applying the reflector paint ?

On a side note, I'd like to replace the screw-into-standoffs (
http://www.mcmaster.com/#spacers-and-standoffs/=c24wpo) which attaches the
lens to reflector body, and the reflector body to the car. All I can find
are standoffs that have a hex body of 11 mm and I need ones that are 8 mm.
Anyone have an idea where I can get such things ?

Thanks,
            Bruce
