I agree completely with Alan Lambert, with the key proviso that if you want
synchros to last, you need to lighten the gears! I've heard you can just do
1st and 2nd in a pinch, but while it's out and easy, it isn't that much
more to do them all. I had mine done by Merritt Carden (who is now in his late
80s) along with anti friction coating and am well pleased. Do NOT use
aftermarket parts in a trans rebuild, particularly synchro rings. Presuming
you're
keeping the car, do it once, do it right, for if you don't have the time to
do it right, where will you find the time to do it over? Merritt can be
