Ben and all,
There is a product called "Rivnut" that installs like a pop rivet and
gives you a secure threaded fitting. Just Google it and you will find more
info than you ever want. Probably most hardware stores will have them and I
know Harbor Freight does.

Is there a source for the captive nuts at the exterior mirror attaching
