A '94 Spider won't have the drain plug, so yes you just pull the lower hose. Helps to have little girly hands. I use a big flat Rubbermaid container (one of those under bed storage things) to catch all the fluid. There's also a drain bolt on the block behind the exhaust manifold, but good luck getting to itI never bother just for a coolant change.
Unlike earlier Spiders the '91-'94 system is self-bleeding and there is no bleed bolt. Just follow the directions in the manual and make sure the heater lever is set to full hot during drain and refill. Tom Gubiotti > Veloce = Spider?
