Does anyone know of a source for tubular upper front control (A) arms? I
am
building a car based on Alfetta mechanicals and want to eliminate the
stock,
stamped steel upper arm.
Thanks

The steel band on the new doughnut is there so you can torque the thing
tight before it has a chance to be distorted by the weight of position of
the driveshaft. Never take the band off or run the car until the proper
torque has been applied.

Stefano and Brian,
I'd never heard of this either... so I didn't do it when I replaced the
donuts
4-5 years ago on my stock '79 gt. And so far, 10,000 or so miles later in
all
kinds of driving, everything still seems to be working fine (knock on
wood).
Maybe this is someone getting confused with "don't cinch down your
bushings
before the car's on the ground"?
