Alfa maybe later. My 20 year old son just got his first car. I want to gift him with a book that will be helpful to him as he brings the car back to good running condition. He has access to shop manuals and has helped me for years with my GTV-6, friends other Alfas and an assortment of Saabs, English and German cars. The point is he knows a lot about cars but needs the basic electrical and mechanical know how that he saw me do or helped me do but didn't quite follow. He also works for Mercedes through a temp agency when not in college. He drives cars from the docks through the processing center to (but not onto) car carriers. There are a lot of really sharp mechanics there. They will help him do things; its the theory and practice that I think he needs. One final point. He is not a voracious reader. I have all of Carrol Smith's books as well as aircraft circulars; he prefers the photo books of Alfa and Ferrari history. Or better yet a F1 race on TV....
