A friend of mine from Baltimore gave me a rusted out '81 Spider in the late '90s and I joined the Digest shortly thereafter. Been lurking ever since. Replaced the '82 with an '86 Graduate which I still drive. Les Singh's post reminded me of my experiences with the sometimes abrasive side of Fred di Matteo, who was nonetheless the authority on Alfa's as far as I was concerned. I posted a limerick once celebrating Fred's talents and received more than a few less-than-complimentary responses because of it - oh, well. I just added another piece of Italian machinery to my Scuderia, a 2004 Moto Guzzi Breva 750IE with 640 miles on the odometer. It was the second purchase on my bucket list following a 2007 Ford F250 Super Duty 4WD Crew Cab and this after gasoline had passed the $3.00 per gallon mark - can't be sensible all the time. I wouldn't trade the Digest for anything, but the AlfaBB is formidable competition for it. To whoever started the Roll Call: "Well done!"
