Stefano -
It sounds like the problem is inside the switch itself. Taking it apart and
cleaning the contacts should take care of it. Before putting it back on the
car, install relays in the system.

Peace,
Ben

Subject: [alfa] Curious Electrical Problem

Cats:

On my 74 GTV, when I turn the headlight switch to the 1st position, my tail
lights and running lights come on. When I turn it to the 2nd position, the
head lights come on, but the tail lights and running lights turn off. Same
in both Hi beam and Lo beam.

At the fuse block, with the fuse removed, I get 13.3 V to the tail light
circuit in the 1st position, and 12.2V in the second position.

I cannot find anything on the wiring diagram that can explain why they do
not stay on when the switch is rotated to the 2nd position.

Has anyone seen anything like this in the past?

Thanks,
Stefano
