It works for me. I was talking to a college buddy of mine who lives in
Olympia, WA. He was telling me about the snowstorm they had a week or
so back that dumped 15" on Olympia and it's environs. He was
complaining that every time they get inclement weather, he loses power
- and for a LONG time. This last time he was without power (or heat)
for some 36 hours and a co-worker of his was without power for SIX
DAYS!. He mentioned that he was contemplating having an auxiliary
generator installed like a neighbor has, but didn't like the prospect
of the noise and the cost of the fuel.
I naively suggested that he install a solar energy/battery storage
system. His response was: "Won't work. We only see an average of about
2-3 days of sun per month. The rest of the time, it's overcast. He can
have the cold, the snow, the lack of sun, and the power outages. Here
in CA, if I want snow, I can drive to it in winter in a couple of
hours. Otherwise I don't see any. The longest I've ever been without
power is 4 hours and I live mere minutes from some of the best sports
car roads in the nation. Of two nearby roads, Alain De Cadenet said in
a documentary about last October's Mille Miglia of California
Retrospective, that CA Highway 9 and CA Highway 35 (also know as the
Skyline Drive) were among the best driving roads he's ever been on -
and that includes all of Europe.
I'll stay here 8^)

Stay away! It's all a ploy to keep the place from getting over
crowded.
Hmm... I don't think it's working.
