Bruce,

This sure sounds like a sensor not behaving well when the engine is cold
but the air temps are warmish.  But I can't think of a Bosch L-Jetronic
sensor that controls the behavior that you have experienced.  My cold start
problems (cold temps, cold engine) that I had with my long departed '86
Spider were related to the Auxiliary Air Valve (AAV) which I never did get
corrected.  I did find a nice write up of of the L-Jetronic system based on
a GTV-6: http://www.hiperformancestore.com/Ljetronic.htm.  Might be that
all you need to do is tighten up those pesky grounds !!! ;-}
