I am wondering if Skip Patnode could tell me (or, us) again how to fix a
floppy visor on a Spider. I remember reading his method years ago, but I
don't remember where to go to search the digest. I seem to remember the
process involved drilling a small hole and inserting a fine wire . . . Skip, and all, I hope you're doing well.

I'm not Skip but I am doing well, thanks. If tightening the clamps in the visor itself does not help, the floppy visor fix is to stop the pivot in the bracket attached to the windshield frame from turning inside the bracket. The pivot is a metal piece inserted into the plastic bracket*. Originally it would have been a snug fit but with time it begins to loosen. Adding a small diameter pin fixes it in place. If you are clever you can drill a hole from the backside but not all the way through and it'd be invisible. Bit it is easier to drill all the way through, insert the pin and file it flush then add a dab of paint to disguise it. * I think the Duettos had an all metal bracket/pivot. But their screw hole spacing is slightly different and so those don't fit the later models.
