About twenty years ago a train-freak fellow we know built a live steam
loco for his backyard railway in his basement. Unlike the Countach guy,
Hank had made no plans about getting it out of there; he had in fact
completely neglected to measure the door.
After I stopped laughing at the revival of that memory, it occurred to
me how well-planned this whole thing had been, right down to figuring
out where the earth ramp would be dug and where the doorway would be,
then building the car where it would not have to be moved until it went
out. But then what less can one expect of a guy who makes a whole Lambo
in his basement, including the wheels?
