Hi Stefano, Sorry to see your boo boo there. I can see your dilema with the trim. Isn't it amazing how 1974 technology they were able to install and remove those pieces!
I think what may have happened is that even though that horizontal piece is chrome plated, they still seem to oxidize and seize themselves to the inner rocker section, especially seeing the photos of the rockers where rust is present. Try using a firm 6", or smaller, flat paint spatula, slipping it under neath the trim and working it especially where the screw holes are. This should, with a little tenderness, work free. When you reinstall the screws, use a little clear caulk around the thread and head of the screw. This will help keep water from seeping in there. Good luck and drive carefully!
