Interesting read, particularly as I've just purchased my first new Alfa in 27
years (a brand new Giulietta turbo diesel) so for the first time in more than
12 years I have a two Alfa collection (it joins my 1985 GTV-6 that I've had
since new). In between there have been two Mercedes and up until last week a
Fiat 500 diesel.

Now, to damn with very faint praise, my Giulietta is most like the BMW 120d I
had as a hire car for three weeks earlier this year in the UK. It's clearly
not an Alfa like my GTV-6 which given what the current market demands is
probably a good thing. There's just enough Alfa character to keep me amused
(stop/start stops working occasionally, the auto window lowering via the
remote lowers 2, 3 or 4 windows depending on some factor I don't yet
understand and there's the remains of a dead spider moulded into the right
hand side rear light!).

Still this is the first car since the GTV-6 where I find excuses to take the
long way home and I just want to go out and drive it - maybe this is what a
modern Alfa should be after all.

Yes, this is my first post in a long time but I'm likely to be more visible.

If there's anyone in the Melbourne Australia area who can recommend a good
place to get my GTV-6 resprayed, I'd love to hear from you!
