Hi Kim,
There is nothing special about an Alfa muffler so that being said, a good
muffler shop should be able to get you a good replacement. If you do want to
go with the Alfa muffler, International Auto Parts
http://www.international-auto.com/exhaust-system.cfm or Centerline
http://www.centerlinealfa.com/ or any one of our many parts suppliers can
provide you with a multitude of options.
Since, when a muffler goes bad, pipes and other parts also usually follow
suit, I would take it to the muffler shop first and have them check it over
and give you an estimate on what parts you will need. Then you can decide
from there which way to go.
Also, not all muffler shops are the same so shop around, check with
friends and see who they recommend. If you are anywhere near Norfolk, Va. I
can recommend a good one!

Subject: [alfa] 9a Spider Veloce Muffler
I need a new muffler. I know this because all of a sudden, I sound like a
16-year old in a beefed-up hotrod!
A friend looked at it and said it's the front muffler. I have three
questions:
1. Do I have to order special Alfa parts, or can I take it to a muffler
repair place and they'll have what I need?
2. If I do need to order special parts, what comprises the "front
muffler"?
3. Can I still drive it while I'm waiting for parts?
Thanks!
Kim
