I agree. Find some excuse to pull the engine. Rear seal? Front seal? Just to
clean it?

A number of you have recommended this approach. What I'm wondering is, how do you guys handle the driveshaft in this operation? Do you pull it first? Do you just disconnect it at the engine? I'm wondering because I currently have the driveshaft out of my GTV6 and it took a loooooong time to remove it. I can picture removing it, then the engine, taking a huge effort and a correspondingly huge amount of time.
