The innards of an Alfa inertia switch look dirt simple and easy to restore to full operation. However I would suggest that you put your fuel pump on a relay and use the inertia switch to switch the relay on & off. That way you'll get full voltage at the pump all the time.
I installed a new ganged fused panel (http://goo.gl/ZTku8) in the engine bay, ran a wire to the trunk from the new panel, put the relay in my trunk, and used the existing fuel pump circuit wire to trigger the relay. This really takes the load off 40+ year old wires.
