Gentili Alfisti

Ciao a tutti. As David says I have been lurking mainly because all of my
spare time has been taken up damage repairs to house and garage where very
valuable Alfa parts got trashed by water entry while we were away in Italy
and other places last year.

Yup, you better believe it we have every brand of car ever made even
Murrican ones :-).

Thanks for the good advice about the timing belt. I made certain that the
cambelt had been changed recently when choosing a GT 3.2 V6 so that isn't a
great worry right now. What is though is that useless diff that Mr Alfa has
thrown in there so sooner or later I'll need to get a Quaife unit or the Q2
type. Best would be to have the time to get Ian Algie of Algie Composites in
Columbus OH to make me one. His genius is largely unrecognized although some
know him because of the 200 mph Alfetta we built and raced to multi NZ
championships.

1600 Oil Pump
I have several used oil pumps from 105/115 cars and yes, the pickups do vary
in length. You'll need to measure up the existing one to get a match.

Subject: [alfa] Mitsubishi nuts and Alfa GT 3.2's

Fellow Alfisti,

It is good to see some people emerging from their lurking holes and passing
on wisdom.
Les from NZ may have the solution for Rich. I'm in Australia, yet I import
Alfa parts from wrecks in England. It's cheaper than local supply, even
with freight. One nut might be the exception, but there might be another
part you need that could make it all worthwhile. Importing from NZ could
be worthwhile, they have almost every brand of car ever made..

Secondly, Les, it is good to see you have a GT 3.2. I'm in the middle of a
head refurb thanks to a snapped belt. The cost is frightening. My
recommendation - don't spend all day at the track without constantly
checking of the belt condition.

Cheers,
david - downunder in Oz.

Subject: [alfa] more 1600 perplexities

Gentle Alfisti,

The new oil pump supplied by a famous racer/tuner outside of Atlanta is
deeper than my original and interferes with the bottom of the sump. I knew
that Alfetta pumps were special because of the deeper sump configuration,
but are not all 105-115 pumps of similar dimension? Thanks Digest,
