If it is a vinyl top then raise at as far as possible and let it sit in the
sun for a few hours. Be sure to try latching it before the sun sets & it
cools off.
If it is a canvas top then do the above but add water. Try to keep the top
damp as it sits in the sun (which will keep drying it out which tends to
shrink it). Perhaps a wallpaper steamer might be useful here?
If successful then go & sin no more.
