Try something like Loctite 515 sealant on the threads. Just a smear. I don't
like using silicone as it can act as a lubrinact and allow plugs to work loose,
but I use the old purple Loctite on everything (a mate even used it to stop a
leak in a motorcycle tyre....).

You only need a smear on the threads.

=============
Greetings from toasty Las Vegas,

Like just about every other Alfa owner, I keep a gaggle of those crushable
copper drain plug washers in my glove box, for future oil changes. It seems
like washers really haven't worked on the last couple of oil changes - so I
even bought a new drain plug, thinking there might be a burr or something
impeding the seal. No luck.

Can anyone give me a tip or some advice - I just can't seem to stop that
irritating drip of oil that comes from my plug, and my mechanic says he's
doing the best he can!
