Yes, senders are specific to the gauge manufacturer. Use of the other
supplier's sender will result in a gauge that works in reverse of the
expected but it should still register. I used a Veglia sender with the
Jaeger gauge in my '69 spider for several years before I got around to
changing it out. The needle started out on the far right and went to the
center when the pressure came up. I'm assuming things should work the same
when sender and gauge suppliers are reversed. You could also use a
voltmeter, I suppose.

Best,
Bob A.

Subject: [alfa] GT oil pressure gauge

Gentle Alfisti,
Am I to understand that the oil pressure sending unit is specific to the
gauge manufacturer, be they Jaeger or Veglia? My 66 GT indicates the oil
pressure pegged to the right with no signal power applied.
Can I use a voltmeter to monitor oil pressure on a first-start?
Thanks, Digest
