Dont forget to verify that the check valve between the intake manifold and
the booster is functioning correctly. Also placing a vacuum gauge between
the manifold and booster will help diagnose issues. The common failure mode
I see in the brake boosters is a ruptured main diaphragm. There are many
places that will restore the booster for much less than the cost of a new
one. Be sure that they will replate the steel parts and make the booster
look as good as new.
