Subject: [alfa] Can't Unsubscribe
I have been trying
to unsubscribe so I can use another email address for
the Alfa Digest, but I
can't.
I don't know if it's because I have a .us domain in my email
address.
Sending an email with unsubscribe in the body
to
[email protected] and trying the "new majorcool web
based
subscription system." at
www.digest.net/bin/digest-subs.cgi?module=browse
both give me this
response:
>>>> unsubscribe alfa-digest [email protected]
>>> Sorry, an
error has occurred while processing your request
>>> The caretaker of Majordomo
( [email protected] ) has been
notified
>>> of the problem.
I have
also sent an email to Richard on July 2.
Anyone have any
ideas?
Thanks.

Are you subscribed to the digest, or the individual
format?
Try 'unsubscribe alfa' in the message body.

Subject: [alfa] Buyer
beware - update
Update:
What a difference a day, a little legal action,
and some public shaming make.
Thanks to Dick Stachowiak, Kirk Fergus, and
others on the BB as well for the
pointers to an EBay auction calling out my
username there.
I didn't even bother searching on the user name this time
around, as I had
done that last time around when the EBay forwarder for the
initial auction
expired. The seller stopped responding to my EBay emails and my
emails to his
personal account weeks ago, so I figured why bother, I'd just be
ignored.
So here's the update. I responded to that post, and got a lame
excuse about
his computer being in the shop. I guess that means he can post
things for sale
on EBay, but can't check his personal email. Whatever. A little
more feet
dragging, some whining about not being able to recover his Paypal
fees (boo
hoo, you should have effing refunded my money 5 months ago, and it
wouldn't
have been an issue). Net net, looks like funds have just been
deposited to my
Paypal account.
While I'm sure he'll claim it was entirely
coincidental that he reached out in
that strange way just last night, I don't
believe in coincidences. Ignore me
for almost a month, then all of a sudden
reach out right after I file fraud
charges and start the social media
blitz.
I guess you all can draw your own conclusions. Personally, I'd be
cautious
with this seller. Actually, personally I'll never do business with him
again,
but I'd recommend the rest of you be cautious.
At any rate, thanks
all for the support, and for whatever part the Digest and
BB played in getting
this resolved. Finally.
