Just what I was wanting to know and more.
I’ve taken like a duck to water to Chromecast and Audiocast, yes I get better
quality through Heos and Play-Fi but Chromecast isn’t too bad, I can play my
96K/24-bit FLAC collection and so forth using it.
I use some JBL Playlist Speakers in the kitchen though I imagine replacing
these with 1 or 2 Google Home Max speakers.
If you have a limited budget and a Google Home Max would stretch it to the
limit - and you like Chromecast and have a Google Home Mini etc - then I’d
certainly recommend the JBL Playlist speaker which you can buy for around a
quarter of what you’d pay for the Google Home Max.
Its quite a powerful little football - that’s what the JBL Playlist looks like
- and can be used as a Chromecast speaker or paired using Bluetooth to another
device.
The JBL Playlist runs on AC power only and that’s rather a pity as it would be
nice to take outside and quite the right size for that sort of thing.
