With all this talk about VLC, I decided to give it a try, but I can't get most
of the keyboard shortcuts shown in the menus to work. For example, alt+p
doesn't play, alt+s doesn't stop, alt+j doesn't jump forward and alt+k doesn't
jump backward.

I worked out that p by itself plays and s by itself stops, but if I stop a
track and want to start it again, I need to press n for next followed by p,
otherwise it will play the previous track.

I know I am a novice user, so it probably isn't fair to judge a program on
first impressions, but I don't find VLC to be very intuitive. I acknowledge
that Winamp is not perfect, but I will stick with it for now.

Regards,
Barry Chapman

I definitely think it'd be advantageous for them to receive some input for
screen-reader users. The software is quite friendly but there is a little room
for improvement, especially in the area of setting advanced preferences. If you
go there you'll see there's quite a lot "under the hood" of VlC!

Well there is hope, VLC will keep getting better so there’s your hope, the more
people who use the software then the more feedback the developers get.
