------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Oct 6 15:22:57 -0700 2005 ------- I think I may have solved this issue. For me, it was related to apostrophes in folder names, and I got errors with OOo 1.1.4 and with OOo 2.0 beta (M120-130). To reproduce: 0. Create a .pdf file. Give it an arbitrary name. 1. Move the target file to a test directory. Ensure that the folder name contains an apostrophe. Example: /home/user/Documents/test'ing/arbitrary.pdf 2. Open OOo and create a new writer doc. 3. Insert -> Hyperlink. 4. On the left side, click "Document." 5. Provide the path to your chosen document in the "test'ing" folder, or click the button and search for it. 6. All other fields are irrelevant. Click "Apply" then "Close." 7. Click on your hyperlink. You should receive the following error message: "No corresponding external application could be found for the given file type. Please check the OpenOffice.org settings." The message may be different in OOo 2.0 beta or RC1. The apostrophe thing would explain why I (and possibly others) may have been experiencing the problem but the developers could not reproduce it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
