Carsten is already investigating the patch.
Using a zip file was discussed in our team, it has the drawback that we then
must always install all xml files, even if some modules are deselected in the
setup. Currently if e.g. Calc is not installed we don't copy its xml files to
the corresponding folder in uiconfig. If uiconfig was a zip Setup couldn't
modify it in any way and we would have some unnecessary xml files. Shouldn't be
a big deal though, so it is still an option to use a zip. But this is only an
option for the next major release.
