2005 -------
It is an official final version downloaded from a mirror site. I use Slackware
10.2 (full-installation and also have Dropline Gnome installed) and I installed
all OOo packages through kpackage. The same thing happens on two machines using
the same OS.
I forgot to mention on my first post that the spreadsheet is inserted (it is
visible) before the application freezes.
After some more experimenting I found out that this doesn't happen only on blank
documents, but also on modified and saved ones.
Also, when I managed to insert a spreadsheet and modified some of the values,
after a while the "save document" started (automatically) and froze up in the
middle.
I noticed a general instability when inserting OLE Objects in general. For
example, I inserted a Writer object and an Impress object (different cases),
where I experienced the same behaviour (freezing on save), on some occasions, or
a crash, asking me to save my work.
I tried the Windows version (via wine) and the problems did not occur.
I hope this helps.
