lol, that's a feature ;) that's, I believe, it is actually Word's "track
changes" feature. In that way, you can control who makes which changes, and
which changes to keep and which ones to dump. AFAIK tracking changes and and
inserting comments has 'compatibility' problems btw OOo and Word. But they never
resulted in DoS before. 

Oh, I forgot to report this: I believe (pretty sure) the user in question is
using Word 2000. The document also opens no problem in Word 2003 (win xp) and it
can also be saved as html in Word (tru which tracked changes are still 
visible). 

Any more output / info, just let me know. Hmmm, let me see if I have the
original document in odt. in a few minutes... 

I need to be able to open these documents, or I'll kinda be kicked hard for
using non-Word...
