Unfortunately the jpackage documentation is off-line currently ... Anyway, if I
understand correctly, jpackage (tries to) establish a standard way of deploying
Java extensions and selecting Java installations. There for this RFE is about
adding support for jpackage to OOo. Correct?

In detail:
JPackage uses the sym. link "/usr/lib/jvm/jre" to point to the actual prefered
Java. OOo should support this link.

Comment:
Solaris also is supporting the generic selection of the current Java via sym.
links. Solaris uses therefor "/usr/java", which obviously does not comply to the
FHS.

Feature:
The point is, that the current Java selection mechanism needs to identify the
type of the Java to be used (vendor, version, etc.). This is currently done when
selecting it. That means, that OOo currently does not support any kinds of sym.
links for configuring the actual Java.

KR->JL: Could we add support for Java sym. links, in at way that changing the
sym. links target also changes OOos configured Java? It than would be easy to
add support for "/usr/java" respectively "/usr/lib/jvm".
