Cannot reproduce stange behaviour with OOo1.9.79 + WinXP.
"Do not split paragraph" is off by default and can be checked/unchecked any
time.
I leave this issue as "unconfirmed".
To "gapitts": Please check if you can reproduce the defect in the current build.
