Maybe we should change the UI here. The line-chart always has categories and no numerical x-values. BTW., Excel has the same distinction, but they have an automatism that changes a line-chart to scatter-chart when the categories are numbers. I don't generally like automatisms like this as they are not obvious to the user, but in this case it helps a lot of users getting the right thing. Of course it would have been better to improve the UI instead of having an automatism that knows better than the user.
