Hello ace_dent, hello kendy,

thanks for your valuable input. I will try to clarify a few things:

1.) OpenOffice.org currently does only support High Contrast Mode with inverted
colors (the screen is mainly dark and icons should be white on dark background).
The light high constrast mode is not supported by OO.o because the respective
icon set is missing. If you switch to the light version of HC mode the default
icons will be displayed. This is also the reason why we cannot use your patch.
The icon designer feels that a completely black icon does not look nice enough.
The dark grey has been picked deliberately.
We hope to support the light HC mode in a future version of OO.o by using the
dark HC mode icons and replacing the colors on the fly.

2.) I was not aware that icons for StarOffice/OpenOffice.org are being checked
in by OO.o members without guidance by the responsible Sun engineer. The problem
is, that the icons set for StarOffice needs to fulfill certain criteria which
led to the Sun internal rule, that only that engineer should check in icons. We
use an internal Tool called 'IconTool' that helps to maintain the thousands of
icons of OO.o. The database that's behind this tool needs to be in sync with
CVS.

What we need to do now is the following:

-finding out, which icons have been integrated by previous CWS without using the
standard procedure of checking back with the Sun icons designer (Stella Schulze
- [EMAIL PROTECTED])
-once the list is created the icons have to be reviewed by the Sun icons
designer.
-then the IconTool needs to be updated
-then I will commit the combined changes of the past CWS and Stella to CWS
qwizardspp4
-CWS icons02 should then wait for the integration of qwizardspp4. Resync to the
appropriate master and then present the icon changes to Stella before committing
them.

Would that be a suitable way to fix this problem? Regards, Tom.
