I am hoping to move my organisation to OOo but the usability of mail merge is a deal breaker. Searches on the forums reveal that both supression of blank lines and the effectivness of filters are serious issues. Filter choices need to work, and be saved with the document. Suppression of blank lines needs to be a tick-box that works. The process of finding and replacing line-breaks with paragraph braks and inserting condition fields is simply unreasonable for someone migrating from MS Office. If I had time I would try to write a macro or something to do the job, but I have a buisness to run!
