------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 20 19:29:19 -0700 2006 ------- Hello SBA This site is probably good for computer people but I can't see what has been sent except my first notification. I have looked at the documents wher the spellchecker stopped checking ner misspelt words and sent it to you. If you have not received it let me know. Basically while typing my CV from a blank document. I downmload the essential criteria from the web then type in how I meet them. I use quite a few bullet points etc. I always have the auto spellchecker on. I use language UK. After a while I notice that misspelt words are not corrected. I hit the spellchecker button. It appears to be spellchecking and finds existing (earlier) missspelt words and asks if I want to start checking form the beginning. I click yes. It goes though the document again finding old missspelt words but misses obviously misspelt words typed later. It then give the misleading message that the checking is complete. The document containing many major and minor misspelt words. If the spellchecker works on the document I have sent you try typing in som obviously misspelt words and see if it finds them. On my computer it will not find any newly misspelt words either automatically of when asked to checl the document. I have tried several ways to get it to spellcheck. I am n0t expert but I look at the settings. Then I cut the text from the document and paste it into a new document. Still does not work. I tried: Closing the document and opening it on another comuter with the same version of OO. It did not work. Cutting parts of the text I thin it worked for a while once then stopped again. Selecting all of the text and changed the font several times. It did not work. Selecting all and applied the default style. It worked!! There appears to be a code getting into the document something in the document posibly form cutting and pasting from Word. I loked on this site before notifying and saw that a probem with the spellchecker was notifide in 2003. It might therefore be a difficult problem to solve. So some interim advice to users might be useful. For the record I copied everything into Word at work and submitted the application last Friday!! I could not risk sending an unchecked CV to a prospective employer. That is why I think it is such an importan issue to solve. If I can give you any more information. Let me know.
