I think you can do it, whit this way:
1) Click on you gfx and hold the button
2) Whitin 2 sec the OOo cahnge to real drag mode (I don't know the correct term)
3) Drag you gfx to gallery
This works for my, I imorted many gfxes in this way.
So we should write this information to help also we need a odg import to Gallery
(this one is already added as Issue).
